Looking virtually identical to the X1 Concept that debuted at last year’s 2008 Paris Motor Show, details of the production-ready 2010 BMW X1 has leaked out.
Based on the 1-Series, the X1 boasts a more luxurious interior than its lower brethren. The swoopy dashboard houses BMW’s iDrive computer system.
When the X1 is launched later this fall, base models will include the fuel-efficient gasoline xDrive18i and the diesel xDrive18d. Further up the line-up is the 177hp diesel xDrive20d. A slightly more powerful 204 hp diesel xDrive23d will also be offered. The final model is the gasoline-powered xDrive28i.
Although all the launch models will feature xDrive all-wheel drive, it is widely expected the X1 will be offered with sDrive rear-wheel drive shortly after production begins in late 2009.
Look for the X1 to be officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
