Ford will supply the new European-spec 2010 Ford Ranger pick-up as a support vehicle at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom. It will serve as the vehicle’s world debut.
A true off-roader with “tough-truck” capability and seating for up to five, the new 2010 Ford Ranger has a “class-leading” 4800 lb braked-trailer load capacity, and comes with a diesel engine.
Festival goers will be among the first to see the new Ford Ranger before it goes on sale in September of 2009. The event team will be using six vehicles, including double and super-cab Thunder derivatives, and they will be operating throughout the event.
The new model is expected to look largely similar to the Ranger concept that was displayed at auto shows a few months ago. It may also form the basis for a new American Ford Ranger model, although previous iterations of the Euro/Asian Ranger have been distinctly different from the current larger American version.
Ford Motor Company, a major sponsor of the Goodwood Festival of Speed since its inception in 1993, will be a significant presence at this prestigious event to be held over the weekend of 3-5 July 2009.
