It is always accepted as fact that the Ford F-150 is the top-selling pickup truck in America. However, when light-duty pick-ups are taken into account separately, the results are rather different.
According to PickupTrucks.com, General Motors sold more Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickups, at 119,959 units, in June than Ford sold F-150s, at 107,778 units. That makes the Silverado 1500 the best-selling full-size light truck in the country.
The two automakers don’t break down the sales figures for each pickup line when reporting overall figures, so Ford lumps all F-Series F-150, F-250, F-350 and F-450 sales together, making it the overall best-selling pickup line in the United States.
