Last we heard, Nissan was rumored to be killing the Armada large SUV and its platform-mate, the Infiniti QX56. The Japanese automaker was going to source its next large SUV platform from Dodge since they planned a tie-up on their next fullsize pickups, but that deal is now dead. But a report now suggests that the QX56 at least will live on, with a 2011 model due next year.
As such, if Nissan’s going to put out another large SUV, it’s going to need its own platform. Given the overall state of the SUV market in America, with sales of Infiniti’s QX56 down 41.2% so far this year, Wards Auto is reporting that Nissan is readying a new QX56 for next year.
